Nalikai, 17 June 2026While no Pacific Island nation qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the spirit of Oceania shines brightly through three talented players of Pacific heritage representing New Zealand’s All Whites. As the tournament unfolds, the Kingdom of Boralani sends heartfelt congratulations and stands in solidarity with these outstanding athletes.
Meet the Pacific Islanders in the All Whites Squad
Marko Seufatu Nikola Stamenic (Midfielder)
Heritage: Samoa (Solosolo village)
Marko has already made history as the first Samoan — and only the second New Zealander — to play in a UEFA Champions League match. A key member of the All Whites since his 2021 debut, he has captained the team and currently plays for Swansea City in the English Championship.
Born and raised in Wellington, Marko has spoken movingly about the pride of representing his Pacific and Serbian roots: “Growing up with Pacific Island heritage, you don’t always see a lot of representation at this level… it’s about representing my family, my culture, and hopefully inspiring younger Pacific Island kids.”
Maxime Teremoana Crocombe (Goalkeeper)
Heritage: Cook Islands (Nikao, Rarotonga)
Max earned the Golden Glove at the 2024 OFC Men’s Nations Cup after keeping a clean sheet throughout the tournament. With 24 caps for the All Whites, he has played professionally in Australia, England, and now with Millwall FC in London. His late grandmother, the acclaimed Cook Islands author and academic Marjorie Crocombe OBE, would surely be beaming with pride.
Michael Joseph Boxall (Defender)
Heritage: Samoa (Apia)
A veteran with 63 caps, Michael is one of New Zealand’s most-capped players. He scored the crucial goal that helped qualify the All Whites for this World Cup and has represented New Zealand at two Olympic Games. A stalwart for Minnesota United in Major League Soccer, his journey reflects dedication and leadership on and off the pitch.

Their presence at the World Cup — the biggest stage in football — sends a powerful message to young dreamers in Boralani and beyond: with hard work and support, Pacific Islanders can compete at the highest levels.
