Free Spinal Health Checks Return to Boralani

Residents of Boralani will once again have the opportunity to receive free spinal health checks as a team of chiropractic interns from New Zealand returns to the island this month.

The visiting group will spend a week providing complimentary spinal assessments and wellness consultations for members of the community. Similar visits in previous years have proven popular with residents seeking advice for back pain, neck discomfort, mobility issues, and general musculoskeletal health.

The clinics will be held at the Nalikai Community Hall, making the service easily accessible to residents from across the island. The interns will work under the supervision of experienced clinical mentors, ensuring that all assessments meet professional standards while giving students valuable hands-on experience.

According to the Ministry of Health, many island residents spend long hours fishing, farming, paddling, or working in physically demanding occupations. These activities can place significant strain on the back, neck, and joints over time. Health professionals note that spinal health plays an important role in mobility, comfort, and overall quality of life.

The visiting team will offer spinal screenings, posture assessments, and educational advice on maintaining good musculoskeletal health. While the service is not intended to replace regular medical care, it provides an additional opportunity for residents to learn more about their physical well-being and identify issues that may benefit from further attention.

The program also reflects Boralani’s ongoing commitment to international partnerships in healthcare and professional education. By hosting visiting students and mentors, the island gains access to additional health services while helping train the next generation of practitioners.

Appointments are not required, and all residents are welcome to attend. Organizers encourage anyone experiencing persistent back or neck discomfort, or those simply interested in learning more about spinal health, to take advantage of the free service during the team’s stay.
